John was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He went to high school at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, graduating as a National Merit Finalist and valedictorian of his class. He then attended the University of Washington, graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in Business Administration. He attended the University of Washington School of Law, graduating in 1994. In law school, he was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Washington Law Review.
John joined a Seattle law firm in 1994 as an associate, and became an associate with Fain Sheldon Anderson & VanDerhoef, PLLC at its inception in 1997. Mr. Gagliardi became of member of the firm in 2004. John practices in a range of areas including medical malpractice defense and commercial and personal injury litigation. He does health care law, including disciplinary and licensing disputes as well as regulatory compliance issues. He continues his civil appellate practice as well.
Experience
Mr. Gagliardi’s practice has included the following:
- Representation of various entities in personal injury litigation.
- Representation of various entities in appeals before the Washington State Courts of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
- Representation of physicians, dentists, chiropractors, nurses, physical therapists, and other health care providers in medical malpractice lawsuits.
- Representation of health care providers in licensing and disciplinary disputes before the Washington Quality Assurance Commissions.
- Representation of physicians in hospital privileging disputes and in disputes with medical insurance companies over provider status.
- Representation of physicians in dispute with Medicare over reimbursement.
- Representation of insurance companies in insurance coverage disputes.
